Water in boat gas

So spent all day getting a boat running
Ran it off a gas can to bypass fuel system after replacing filters and cleaning carb the second time #}^}*#^}
Yea it runs
Pump fuel tank out with a pump fuel comes out clean
Wtf ? So dump a gascan of fuel back in with pump running
And here comes the water and crap from bottom of tank
Filled a pop bottle and was 50-50 gas water mix
Did a second gas jug and finally got clean fuel
Now it runs so go put boat in lake warming it up and it overheats
The impellers gone in the raw water pump
guess the pressure from garden hose kept it cool at the house
Boats suck

yup boat's are a hole in the water to throw money into. Even when maintained and stored properly. But then again I own a Jeep or 2 so what do I know

it can be hard to get all the water out of the tanks.

methahydrate? a fan blowing in it to dry out empty tank?

i love my dingy. ride it hard and put it away wet. never winterized it. owned it for 20 years, maybe i should check the impeller one of these years.....

get a fuel water separator. Boats can be reliable and easy to work on if you do it right. My family relied on a boat daily for commuting living up indian arm. over 10000 hours on our 115 merc before trading it in for a 150 merc with zero major work done to it. Just proper prep and maint. Even sank it once.

I think the new owner got a bad fill at the marina

fixed now and running fine like it did when buddy had it

jets dont have that issue.

jet on a pontoon would be great , no prop to worry about very little maintainance (squirt a lube after every day out) and super safe no blad to slice and dice the manatees.
