those are the purcell mountains baby, but it is close to the rockies, and beautiful

Felt that cold sitting around a fire at duncan lake last week on a cloudless 11pm sky. Then i made the fire bigger and felt nothing!

Well from my understanding of this map, Kimberley is in the purcells, and the purcells extend northwest of Kimberley. So really, Im sticking to I think it's the Rockies.

Lots of off highway routes along highway 3 that I've wanted to try from lower mainland to West Kootenay. Once you're at Kootenay lake, the Gray creek pass is the last east/west route I know of until you go north to the trans canada. Or you could stay south of hwy 3 and I believe you can stay off pavement from just east of Creston to the Alberta border
