$400 to take 4 people to the springs for a day doesn't sound all that out of line.

I'm sure lunch and snacks are provided. How much would you charge for a day of your time plus the use of your vehicle, gasoline, lunches, etc? Plus the hassle of creating a website, answering phone calls/questions, taking reservations, insurance, taxes, advertising costs, etc.

It's not as simple as you might think.

But that the groupon. Original price is $700+.
That's a lot of money for a day trip to there.

I would think if its a legitimate company they have to be insured for liability
special license for bus/limousine , then ICBC insurance
then file a some kind of route plan with the ministry of transport

Then own a passenger van capable of making the road and carry enough people and there gear to get there profitably. Also maintain the thing or buy a new one every few years because it will get shit kicked driving that road day in and day out

If your leaving form Vancouver there's going to be hundreds of dollars in fuel.
best hope the van is at least half full.

If you think about it if its 700-800 for 4 people thats not a bad price when you figure all the risk and expense the tour company has to put out.

Well I have driven to the hot springs about 20 times.

Taken many passengers, it's easy.
Just don't take honky or moondog. They get lost.

I camped with a fella at Skookumchuck that was planning to run hotspring tours with his Delica from Vanc. Also an outfit outta Squamish & Whistler is running tours at those prices, big Ford van. I've seen Jet boat tours from Pemberton also landing at Skookumchuck (T'sek) H/s.
