For people that dont know heres Ioco....

well i know everyone in the lowermainland knows ioco but bc is a big place and im sure some members havent seen or heard of it..
so thaught id share.....

its our urban ghost town.....
complete with school, stores , houses and a town hall


and the neatest fact i have found and didnt know for many years
Ioco is not a native name.. but short for Imperial oil company....
..

.the land all around is pretty much a refinery distibution place.......

all the power poles, hydrants ,streets are all there for the public to see and enjoy the area...,

cool story i never knew , i used to 4x with my dad up eagle mtn back in the 80's /90's then a few years ago i did a job for hydro holly houses and behind power station where i learned how to ride , is now a park and golf course man how things change , i miss wheeling up in those parts that golf course was one of the main trails in i wonder if they would mind if i relived my old memories and go for a run

Lol i drive past the place all the time never cared to stop and actually look though. Just figured it was some dump house. Theres a trials area further on too but u gotta be a member

I thought the town had closed down due to water contamination. I think there are signs up around the town site saying that.
