It is only legal to have a fuel tank in your box if it is a double walled tank. Whether or it is your vehicles fuel supply or a tidy tank, if it is mounted exteriorly it has to be double walled. Thats out of the TDG regs

well they obviously dont enforce it at all
or it doesnt include big trucks because them big long shinny aluminum tanks
hanging off the side of them are not double wall
nether are the steel ones that double as the step
having the tank in the box or in my case inside the cage
isnt really as exterior as those big trucks

Fuel system
21A fuel system must not have a leakage in any part.
I called a cop and this is what I found out.
As per the B.C. Motor Vehicle Act

The fuel tank and piping must be securely installed.
There shall be an adequate filler cap.
The throttle linkage on a vehicle must operate freely on applying or releasing.
The carburettor of a vehicle must be equipped with a flame arrester.
[en. B.C. Reg. 658/76, s. 2.]

After market fuel cells are legal.
