Pump lead burnt connector

Hey Doug...this is what I was talkin about

This is the connector that powers the pump. Odd that it's melted. Could have been from too many primes when it was trying to start and got hot?

or could be a sign of a bigger problem

....just a guess

Do not cut that connector out. Shrink tube and solder is a good option for hard wiring only. If that connector still works just clean the burnt shit away and put some marine grade sealer back around the pin to protect it. Looks like it did get hot more likely due to excessive priming check all grounds for shorts though and check fuse panel to make sure correct amp fuse is there for pump. I still say its the AIC valve

you can buy and make your own weatherpack connectors.
go to napa, they should have what you need.

Its melted due to a poor conection at that terminal causing high resistance which causes the heat to melt the plastic. If it was a pump overheating problem, both terminals would be melted, or it would have blown the fuse.
