It used to be fun building these machines but now with all the new tech out there from the factory it put us little guys out of business. It was fun while it lasted.

Those old triples always sounded great. Nothing quite like them. Is it a big bore kit or just the 800?

Its actually a 700. Case is ported/cylinders are ported and polished/head has been reshaped. Compression is 14:1. Engine runs at 9200 rpm.

This machine was weighed @ 435 no fuel, and 525 with fuel. Back then it took alot of work to get these numbers. We even weighed idler wheels for the lightest. I gutted the hood and got it down to 10lbs from 26lbs. You guys are right though it might just end up being my hot rod for those spring rides. Sure would like to see it go to someone that can appreciate it though. It has approx 1500 kms on it since I built this machine.

did you polish that aluminum or was it always shiny?

this is my first year in the sport i bought a 2000 summit highmark 700 but its not a triple. its older and heavy compared to my other friends but i love it. nothing compares to sledding. i keep up no problem, seems lots of the new sleds just dont have the simple longevity of the older ones like this. good luck with the sale.

Rub on Rub off. Its that easy. Not really but if you take your time and do it in stages you can make it like chrome. I always made it a habit to wax before every season, wash it after every ride, and keep it covered.
