Glad Nate's ok. i hope people can learn some preventative actions from this thread ie- putting hoods up, using line weights, blocking danger areas, staying clear as an observer and using good equipment. not those $10 princess auto straps. i have learned from my own mistakes. not to say any body was at fault. shit does happen.

just found this thread. good to here the guy pulled through. i remember mothers day a few years back my dad was pullin a bog chev out with our old brown ford. the strap broke with shackle and went right through the back and front windsheilds. the oldman was layin across the bench cuz he thought it might break, woulda tooken his head off. i always duck when pullin/being pulled now. ya never now what or when. keep it safe boys n girls, thats the most important thing.

After that we only did small pulls, anything stuck bad was winched out, with me and Mat standing clear.
When I started reading this post the first this that came to mind was this tow hook projectile. Getting stuck is just part of the day, but watching that tow hook snap off the frame and hit the fuel tank was an eye opener. I know I will learn from these stories and I hope everyone does the same.

Hope to see you on the trail Nate
