that was a "toy box" fiberglass box made in onterrible in the late 80's, it used 3/4" plywood for internal structure, and the plywood was rotted out, but it held together ok, so I kept it at first, decided to buy into the hype and switch to synthetic motor oil in all my vehicles, and all my motors siezed in less than 500km's. for those who care...that was two VW 1.8's, and the 22R in this truck. I did the dub motors myself, with help from a buddy who's a wolfsburg certified VW specialist, and I traded the box to a guy to put in a new motor, do my clutch, and clean up all the wiring for me.
So yeah.
That's why I took the box off.

Ha!!! I ran into that exact same problem when I installed my u-bolt flip kit... Had to get some oe. style ones to get me by till I get a hi-steer setup. At least I'm not the only one!!!
