Doing some research..
 
So here I am at work, trying to keep myself busy when I decided I would start utilizing this time to make a decision on what route I want to go with an SAS.. Came across a pretty useful site, lots of info, lots of pictures and ideas.

Do a radius arm / coil swap with a D44, all depends on your budget and fabrication skills

sell it and buy a toyota..easier to do plus cheaper...

I am not a follower, I don't need a toyota to be with the cool crowd.:rolleyes:

I'll stick with this for now, and MAYBE in the future, after I'm done destroying this one, I'll think about a toyota.

Well I'm definitely looking for a cheaper route, yet not as hokey pokey as the one on texas4x4.org .. Fabrication Skills, minimal. :confused: BUT, everyone needs to start somewhere, and I'll never learn and better myself if I don't.

Radius Arm Swap, would you say its more cost-effective, or an easier build, or both? :dontknow:

Radius arm set up be easier and cheaper, I'm doing a coil and radius arm suspension from a 78 bronco on my s10, only money that's into it is gears, coil buckets & coils

100% agreed.

You can pick up a set of radius arms for 25 bucks, build your own mounts, and an entire new bushing set is like 50 bucks

HMMMMMMMMMM:confused0006: Did you do radius arms in your pathy? Did you do any write ups or anything on it? I'm still in the researching stage, not in any rush either.

yes i have radius arms.
its pretty easy, if you decide to do it, i can tell you the simple easy steps to it.

stockwheels explorer has a lengthend ford radius arm setup
i would run a jhonny joint on the end of the arms instead of the ford bushings the first set of urethane ones lasted 2 short trips
the stock rubber type have lasted longer
yupp cheap and sleazy and works

What front axles? DO NOT use an U 100 axle. they are narrow and the diff is more centered. it will hit your oil pan.
