3.5" will work a bit, also depends on how wide a tire your running too, im running a tsl and with 3.5" backspacing and it rubs a tiny bit, spacers work but then they cause alot of pressure on your wheel bearings causing them to wear faster cause the load isnt distributed over the center of the wheel bearing

I found the 15x8 -19 works real gooder it is a 3.75'' backspacing thats on a cherokee your prolly looking for a 15x10 with a 4.5'' wold be good im sure

There is a trick you can do on XJ's you remove the steering stops and place a couple of washers (I belive it is 1 1/8th washer for every size of tire you wish to go up) behind them then refit this will slightly reduce your turning radius but you will have no rubbing not sure if it will work on YJ's though.

I run 33 12.5 15, on a 8x15 rim, with a 3.75 offset, and still ub a bit on my leaf, I used to run them on a 15x10 with a 4 offset and they still rub, It was because of the huge ass lugs o nthe tire, my 33x12.5 BFGs, on 10x15 with a 4 offset dont rub at all under full turn....so depending on TIRE as well will determine if your gonna rub.
