Great day out in the chuck. Was a little rough in the morning with 4 foot swells, but we after we got tired of heaving around trolling for salmon we hit some more sheltered bays and channels and got 4 cod, a few sharks (which we obviously didn't keep), and one Bullhead that was so friggen ugly we wondered what fish tapped it's momma to come up with that beast - looked like a horror show monster.

We also hit Active Pass and East Point with a troll past Mayne Island.

The sharks in Active Pass were everywhere! I have never seen the local sharks so aggressive or schooling the way they were. It was a friggen shark frenzy! They were all around our boat and just below the surface. One even came out of the water and actually made a grab at my brother in law's hand as he was rinsing his pliers. A big bugger too! We hooked 3 sharks in the 4 foot range and there were some bigger ones around the boat. Normally we don;t even see these things until you pull 'em to the surface and realize you have a mudder on your line.

A great day fishing with my sons and Brother in Law!

My Brother In Laws' Boat - 22' Pro Fisher Cuddy...

Check out the life boat on this bad boy!

Mmmmmm .... Cod Fillets

My youngest and Uncle Glen with another cod

This is the shark that tried to grab Glen ... never seen this in the local sharks before. I guess a shark is a shark

And of course one of several ferries that passed by in Active Pass

hope that ling was legal.... you gotta be careful because i believe any ling under 52cm's you have to release since the population of them is being over fished... and make sure to record it on the license just in case.

Yup, all legal. :)

My bro in law has most of the common species marked out on a plank for quick measurement. We did toss a few back that were under size.
