I pulled onto a weigh scale loaded with a fully loaded camper and trailer pulling two quads and gear and this is what it read

Axles:
Front 2,210 kg = 4872 lbs
Rear 3,700 kg = 8257 lbs
Trailer 1,730 kg =3813 lbs
Total is 7,640kg which is 16,808 pounds

That’s one heavy pig. The Dodge 2500 with airbags pulled the weight great but that is a heavy as I want to go

For what? Is that too heavy for our roads or something?:dontknow:

barracuda

it exceeds the gvwr for his truck by just over 1800 kg
but on a positive note he is under the gcwr as long as his trailer is equipped with brakes ( over 1400 kg is meant to have brakes if i recall):dontknow:

all i can say is make sure you are following and not leading :D

Im pretty sure after 10,000lbsgvw( i think its that) you need a class 3 or a endorsement on your class 5 . And if your over weight and get into a accident, ICBC can void your insurance

the sticker reads

The GVRW = 9000Lbs

Front 5200 lbs

Rear 6010 lbs

so I'm good on the front axel but over on the rear by 2000 lbs. I am running air bags in the rear but I am still over the max tire rate.

Time to re-look at the load

barracuda
05-21-2009, 01:46 PM
nope you have exceeded the GVW .

here is some stuff to confuse you oh yeah

I did double check the numbers as each axles was going over but these numbers do not make any sense.

My camper dry = 2548 lbs water = 193 propane = 40 lbs take all the other junk on the camper that would not be more than 400 pounds so a total of about 3200 lbs

Well there were also two adults and 4 kids say 900lbs

Quads = 1,150 and the other stuff on the trailer would = another 1000 lbs tops

Honky

Well Total weight in my ass ….fully loaded is 4000lbs. Total weight in the trailer is 3800. The problem is not the trailer that end is fine.

I have to figure out how I can be 2000 lbs over the GVRW??????????

The more I look at this the more I’m getting confused

Honky
05-21-2009, 02:34 PM
I guess the question is how can 4000lbs make me 2000lbs over the gvrw

barracuda

that trailer without all the extra sides and rack etc is well over that. as a flatdeck and ramps it is near 1600lbs

I didnt think his was all that big? drop by a set of scales when they are closed so you can monkey about on them and figure out the weights

Honky
05-21-2009, 02:55 PM
I did ...thats how I got these numbers. I will stop again next time I pass them. Do they get pissy if you stop when they are open?

barracuda
05-21-2009, 02:57 PM
the risk if they are open is that you can be nailed for being overweight etc..

Honky
there is a private scale in Mission on Nelson Ave owned by Chips Ahoy/AMPM
phone themand talk to the girl in the office or the owner Dennis (maybe his son Patrick is now the boss) to see what they will charge to wiegh it
maybe get an idea when it is slow so you dont have a bunch of interior logging trucks wanting to scale in
nice and close to home, and you can try different things before you risk getting stopped by the Revenue Rangers

so what, y'all just roll in the sclaes when they are closed and they are still powered up? I'd like to know how much im pushing these stock POS goodfear tires on the ram...

Looks like its time fer a tandem axle with a WD hitch.

Got stopped in the canyon last week pulling my car trailer with 21 cedar fence panels on it.
The cop was a real asshole.
He said he should weigh me and give me a $900 fine.
The panels weigh about 75 lbs each so that was only 1575 lbs.
My trailers a tandem axle with 3500 lb axles and my trucks a F-250 crewcab.
Cop said he knew I was way over.
I dont think I was but whos going to argue 200 miles from home ?

I think he was just mad because the wife just about ran over him.
He ran right out in front of us to flag us in.

I heard many stories of cops just running out thinking u will stop remember one I think it was my uncle had said he was driving along and a cop ran out in front of him but was going to flag the guy in the fast lane and my uncle was ready to kill the guy because it was on the freeway like there was no time for him to really react and he did just about hit him like come on common sense says a vehicle moving at 80km or more takes a bit to stop regardless but add some more weight if say they are going camping or moving something ur a moron to think they can stop fast enough if u just jump out in front of them. My grandpa one year when I was up visting him was hauling an old farm trailer loaded with old telephone poles and I think he had some more stuff on the flat deck on the truck got pulled over literally 500 feet from the turn off and had to get the truck VI sadly he ended up scrapping the truck but think the trailer is still being used by someone else now.

With all my camping gear, trailer/golf cart I was 100kgs from being over loaded in my taco.
1060kg
1220kg
800kg
I think I'm going to throw more weight in the trailer instead of the bed next time.
