so i threw a stereo in my rig,
but out of the cluster of wires i couldn't find an ignition power wire...
so i hard wired it to the batt.
personally i don't like that...
so what can i use as an ignition power wire to my stereo??

but how long would it take to kill the if i left it hard wired and i always turned it off when i was done?

why the hell dont you run a 12 gauge wire from your battery, fuse it, tie it in to a switch in your truck and twist together the acc and battery power for the cd player and put it on the acc of the switch, when you want music you flick a button... lot less fucking around or worring about it draing your battery

you will loose any memory in the deck doing it this way.. if that matters at all

My deck is wired right to the battery on my Cherokee, I park it,, just hit the detach button on the faceplate, instant off.....doesn't drain the battery as I've parked it like this for 2 months and she still fired on her own....
