Just picked up a 91 gmc tracker with a major oil leak

So, I'm unsure if its leaking from the oil pan or front main. Oil pan gasket looks like RTV so its been off before. I've been told you have to drop the front diff to remove the pan but I was hoping to not do this.

So my question is... How do you, and what is the quickest/easiest way to remove the oil pan from a 1991 tracker.

If there is a silicone looking seal around the oil pan it is probably stock and the oil leak might be coming from the front main seal. Remove the plastic cover from around the pulleys and have a look for a leak there first as this is a more common spot for a leak to occur.

its probably the front main, mine is leaking really good. with new oil it hardly leaks, old oil it leaks really bad

I pulled the timing cover enough to take a look and its definitely wet in there. No oil that I can see on the belt tho so that makes me wonder. Looks like an easy enough job. rad, fan, crank pulley, t-belt etc. May as well replace everything while i'm in there.
