Well I shoulda known that my day was cursed the minute this happened
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6031.jpg

I should have turned around and just went straight home, but no, off to Norrish we went. Airing down at the trail head
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6022.jpg

As soon as we hit the trail, I heard some strange sounds coming from the front end. Could it be the Tuna curse:confused0006: Looks like the caliper pins decided they didn't want to come wheeling.
I usually have a few old ones kicking around, but do ya think I could find them??
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6023.jpg

Well our next stop of the day was..
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6028.jpg

After a quick parking lot repair.....
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6027.jpg
.....we were off to Norrish again to see how we'd do in the snow. My buddy just put some Mickey Thompsons on his rig, and I swapped the MTRs from my exploder onto the ranger.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6032.jpg

Just a minor slide to try and navigate over
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6038.jpg

Well wouldn't ya know it, the Tuna curse strikes again. I slid off a rock and luckily only broke the valve stem
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/norrish-staveApril520090140257.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6042.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6044.jpg

After throwing on the spare, we were off again. Finally got up to the snow, but it was real ugly. The sun this weekend really changed the snow conditions, we had a hard time making any progress on it.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6052.jpg

:confused0006: I wonder how the hell we get to the trails up there
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6055.jpg

We back tracked to a little side trail that we found to see where that would lead us
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6070.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/norrish-staveApril520090220265.jpg
Ha ha...go fuck yourself Tuna curse, we saw the jagged side wall eating edge of that culvert just in time to back up and skirt it
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6075.jpg

We got stopped again by the poo'ish snow
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6079.jpg

We decided to start our way out and stop for a quick lunch before heading elsewhere. While backing up, I didn't check my rearview mirror. Had I done that, I would have seen the Tuna curse lurking. I wound up catching a brake line and tearing it off.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6083.jpg

After capping the connection, you can guess what our next destination was...
yup you guessed it!
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6087.jpg

After another quick parking lot repair, we decided we were going to hit the trails above Stave as it was close by
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6086.jpg

We played around on a few trails that were rather fun
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6094.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6099.jpg

We even found snow, but it's conditions were quite different from that of Norrish and we were able to make some headway
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6113.jpg

Until we reached a pretty much unpassable area
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6135.jpg

We turned around in search of other trails feeling fully confident that we left the Tuna curse back at Norrish
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6139.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/norrish-staveApril520090300273.jpg

Passed a lake that had some really interesting melt patterns in it
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6144.jpg

Unfortunatly that Tuna curse is a crafty bugger, it spotted us and decided to creep up and take my cb attennae
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6133.jpg

I thought about going back to Lordco, but decided that duct tape would suffice
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6138.jpg

We ran into this group out having fun in a recently purchased unimog
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6155.jpg

We ran a trail with them that was quite fun
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6164.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/norrish-staveApril520090310274.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/norrish-staveApril520090350278.jpg
I saw the Tuna curse lurking when I passed by this tree. I knew it was just sitting there waiting to take a rear fender flare, but with some added weight from friends on the rear of my truck I made it by without a scratch.

My buddy made it by with no difficulty what soever
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6170.jpg

After that it was getting late, so we decided to call it a day and head out
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y112/mikewild/Norrish-StaveApr5/IMG_6188.jpg

Had a really good day in spite of it all. That was only my second time going to Stave, the trails were fun, but the traffic was too much for my liking.

My buddy has it on a removable receiver, he takes it off so that it doesn't get trashed or if he needs to pull the winch from the front to the back.
