O.k. so I'm thinking of buying a cherokee once again for a trail/road rig probably go with thee rubicon 5.5 long arm kit but what year or model should I look for.
I used to have a 1990 limited it was good but abs went on it had to convert to conventional booster style but other than that it was good.

What year had the best axels(vacum front which i've heard is bad), tranny, transfer cases if any difference.

Thanks in advance[cheers]

I would not buy another XJ again for using as a trail rig why because the uni-body sucks monkey balls. if you wat a Jeep for using as a trail rig go for a CJ , YJ or TJ

shut up Dave. I would go the newest you can afford, you'll get the nicest body and newest motor config. The rest is gravy to change.

XJ'S RULE!!!!!

If I had the cash I'd go with anything '93 on up, stay away from ones like my '89......weak trans, etc.

dont buy a 00 or 01, has the LP d30 up front,
anything over 96 guarenteed 8.25 rear end basically and the 97 body style is way nicer

if you need cheaper tho dont go under 92 and avoid any of the abs systems like the plague (but you already know that now)

Yah, '92 introduces the HO Chrysler FI system, no more french transmissions like mine. easier to find parts like oh say trans mounts n stuff.

92 - I think to 94 is still obd1 so you dont have to worry about your mods [36]and 92 is the start of 2 years between aircare go fuck yourself
