View Full Version : Body panels

My situation is this,i like realism,if i crash i wanna see the carnage so i was running a hard body but that wasnt good enough it only scratched.I purchased a TCS Edge chassis and made up some body panels out of tin cans.Sounds stupid right? well not really, when i rub rocks it sounds real and the carnage looks real but i put a couple hours in to makin the panles and installing them and then the carnage is sometimes a little too devastating.I made a mean bean body that lasted 1 week and then made one up and painted it and it only lasted 2 days before it was destroyed.yeh it was a gooder fall for sure. but the paint chips off and blah blah blah. What i need is a tin thats a little thicker than a pop can and can be painted.
Any ideas? should i just make the panels outa lexan? or keep the tin and quit whinning?

now a couple pics

I think red bull cans are a bit thicker than the traditional cans if not maybe big soup cans or coffee cans thats are louvered begin with will be a bit tougher or steal a temp parking sign from the city

Dean: i just finished a set of skins out of flashing(i think) and they work well but almost too thick. When i grow out of the carnage i wil throw them back on.
Brian:Red bull huh? gonna have to check them out tomorow.

thanks for the opinions guys
