The second time i've done some light wheeling since it's been built. Just sort of getting the feeling for it still. I know i need to move the upper shock mounts a bit.

So yeah, Name's Ryan. Feel free to yell at me if you see me around.

Too much for a golf cart:D

Truck looks pretty good for a toyota.

Yeah i'm pretty happy with it. It's an 87 with all trail gear suspension, aussie locker in the rear and a lockrite in the front. 35x13.5 bfg krawlers and pats drive line built me a long slip front driveshaft.

it's my first solid axle swap and it turned out pretty well i think. Now i just need to figure out a box or deck for the thing... my rusty stock one is pretty ugly.

Looks good....

Thanks fellas.
I like the krawlers so far. They absolutely suck in any kind of deep snow(20psi), but they've been fine in mud up to the hubs and they've been great on trails so far.
I've never run any swampers or boggers before so i can't say how they compare. plus they're nowhere near as noisy on road as i thought they'd be.

I'll be at stave with a bunch of other toys all this weekend coming up (14th-16th) so we'll see how the tires are in deep mud.

20 psi? whoa.... try 8-10...they will prolly work better for ya..

03-10-2009, 04:38 PM
very nice looking rig, run a lower psi on the tires and it will work alot better

I have mine at 12psi..... and never had any problem in snow. In the mud...... 4lo 2nd gear and 3000rpm and they work great

very nice

Yeah the box is probably the absolute worst i've seen on a toyota, but atleast the frame is mint... I just "temporarily" hacked off the back and folded the sides because i was anxious to drive it. it'll probably get some type of flat deck...

i've only ran the tires at streetable (it's my daily) pressures because i really haven't done anything where i've needed lower besides in the deeper snow.

i wasn't sure how low the tires would go before i'm in the bead popping area either.

Nice rig, still alot of snow up there or?

03-11-2009, 12:03 AM
in the trees not so much, but on the lower part there's still a decent amount... maybe like 8" or so would be my guesstimate... didn't really pay much attention to down there though
