I have found on my 89 150 that when I get any sort of heavy incline my truck likes to slip in to neutral its only in heading straight up not in reveres is this just how the pickup is or do I have some sort of issue I contemplated adding a little fluid but I donít want to push any seals any ideas ?
sounds like its outa fluid
so you may have killed it
lucky for you we just had a member offereing auto rebuilds on the cheap
what great timing

its fine 90% of the time but when im at extrem angle it slips out but when i flaten back out i just put it in park then back n gear and is fine again untill i try and clime something else
how "extreme" are these angles?
when the pump doesnt have oil in it the hydraulics lose pressure and let go of the clutches
have you checked the fluid level? what does it read on the dipstick?

I’m at the top of the operating range on the stick its new fluid as well I did a flush last summer and the angles well is say 25 degrees and it starts acting up but at that angle its only if I let of the gas it slips in to neutral but at 45 degrees it will go even if I’m on the gas.
might need an accululator and a fancy oil pan to go extreme angles
did it always do that or just start recently?
could be the filter/pickup slipped out of position if it is a new issue
