Im looking at a truck with it right now and was wondering if there are any problems with it. And how many kilometers can these things rack up before a rebuild roughly?

400 000 on my old one. love it. they stoped making the 4.9L because they were too good and wernt selling any parts or getting any service from them.

check the exhaust out mine had a blown catalityc converter and they are super expensive to replace because they are two cats inline welded right on to the exhuast pipe so they are all one piece. motor is awesome though, the toughest they come.

cut the cats out n send it to an exaust shop to get them to put a collecter on the end. cost me 150 bux.

I killed mine by revving it waaay past the floating valves stage until a couple cam gears chewed off.
