I am looking at the different options for rocksliders for my YJ, there are alot of different designs, not sure which to go with but i have selected a few different ones to choose from.

I will also be putting wide TJ flares on around the same time. I like all of these designs and they are OK price. from $140 - $200 USD, not incl shipping.

looking for your input as to what you have on your jeep or What would you choose and why.... :dontknow: also someone who is around the LM that can build some

THanks

[cheers]

Thats about the best pic I could find showing mine, poison spider rocker knockers, they tie in at the body mounts as well as bolt to the body.

I think to the frame is better,

mine is to the body and I have already snapped the body mount bolt on one side

I would think that any kind of rock sliders and/or cage should be tied to the frame for strength and reliability

Although I'm sure the fancy pants ones replacing body panels would go over very well at the mall................. right Eric :confused0006:

j/k .......... but if you bashed real hard on your truck you could possibly twist the body and stress the seams and body mounts ...... when that happens too much things come apart:dontknow:

My money's on the first one. The round in the corner gives it a lot of added strength over the others. I got mine from warn. It's had cars, rocks, and trees hit it and it's still holding fine. You get what you pay for.

Another thing you might want to do is apply a thick layer of marine grease between the rocker and body. It's impervious to water and resonable temperature, will save the body and even prevent scratching.

I like the last one. The Rounded one is just something to get hung up on, and the second to last I dont think would have the same "sliding properties". However Vastier makes a good point with the round ones being structurally stronger, however the added rigidity isnt all that much.

i like the ones on the blue jeep, same style as i have, protection plus a step, never had any issues with the body or body mounts yet....

lots of good points. i do like the ones on the blue jeep the most. I like the covereage up to the door opening, tube step/slider and tight to the body. frame tie in would be nice to have but may not be required at this point.

stinkfinger, pm me a price for building a set like on the blue jeep :D
