View Full Version : 1/2 ton airbags
Anyone put airbags on their pickup? Was it worth it? How much did it cost? I am looking to put some on my 04 dodge 1500. I am looking to haul some firewood and I like the ajustability over add-a-leaves. Thanks guys.[cheers]

my old man had'em and they were awesome for him. i think the bags cost him 300 and it was a self install. hope that helps!
Thanks guys that helps. Any idea how hard they were to install.
airbags are great, easy install if you get the kit for your year/make of truck.
really stabilize your veh when loaded and normal ride when you air down,I was
told to always keep 5-10psi in them and not to empty them.

I use the Firestone brand. Was an easy install and greatly improves towing.
Got mine From Traction Supply in Coquitlam. WAY cheaper than Lordco. Worked out about the same price as buying from the US.

Stick with firestone. Some of the best bags on the market.

I run firestone with an onboard compressor with a dual needled gauge and switches in the cab.. 03 3500 Cummins.. so its hard for me to say how they'd work on a 1/2ton
And ya like norm says keep a bit of air in them at all times
Firestone is definetely a popular choice but there are others with good reps
.. the timbren load boosters seem to be popular as well (not an air bag but a lot of the cummins guys use them as well).. or the air lift systems .. all on this site I just searched quick
They were on my truck when I bought it so I can't really comment on the install but it looks super easy
