View Full Version : Warranty is whacky!

For my 2003 Chevy Silverado I had the front axle seals changed under warranty in early January 2008. The warranty ran out at the end of January 2008 at 160,000 km. Now I got 190,000 km on my truck and the front axle seals are leaking. Normaly GM parts such as my front axle seals have a 1 year warranty but because they were replaced under the 160,000 km extended warranty the GM dealership will not honor the one-year warranty on the axle seals.
It is that correct? Anybody been in the same situation?

I found out yesterday through GMPP (warranty protection plan), that my seals are only warrantied for 1 yr or 15,000 km. When they did the seals last year I wonder if they checked for axle wear or worn axle bearings or do they just do what I asked?

they would just stuff axels seals in there and hope they last till the warranty is passed they never do anymore then have to.
