Gonna cost a fair few dollars if you have to buy the wiring harness and other bits.
Have a buddy doing it right now on a 94 and he is into it so far for almost 6 g's in buying parts and the donor engine and he hasn't started the actual install yet.
It can be done for allot cheaper though if you do lots of the work yourself

Thought about that and did quite a bit of research on it and a buddy of mine did one in Victoria and another buddy supercharged one.

I am looking for more power, not speed.

I have a 3.4l in my 97 4runner and it works great, lots of torque and good top end.

Custom plug and play wiring harness was about 1900 us from what I remember, the engine was about 1500 with the computer.
Then he got an exhaust conversion custom piece for more dollars.. and the usual little bits and pieces that add up... I will need to get a run down from him again to get the full scoop

I have one in my Trekker .. have a read !!

so far I have about 3G (ENGINE stuff only) into the swap ... + about a 1000 hrs . I'm considering another 3G for the supercharger :) which will net close to 300HP ... hope you have deep pockets .

Mine might be available later this summer. I am actually running around with the evil knevel idea of shoehorning a fuel injected 302 ford into my '97.
There are conversion kits out now that mate the 302 to a R150F tranny.

I like the older V8s, I am just wondering if it will still pass aircare.

If I end up doing that, then I'll have the ECU & harnass all as a package.
