Looks Killer. My piece of shit is getting a going over again....won't there be problems with the cops and tire width???? My tires were about an inch and a half passed my flares and got pulled over alot!

xtremeyj
01-03-2009, 04:59 PM
Mine pretty much became a trail rig so Im not to worried about cops. Its comp cut in the rear and complete custom suspension, I think the last thing the cops will hassle me about is the tire's hangin out.

nice, poly's suspension? how much clearance do you have between the front pumpkin and the frame? also the drag link? those are the places im worried about not clearing on my build.

what are those for tires? 42's?? and what kind of belly pan height is it going to be? wheelbase?

xtremeyj
01-17-2009, 08:34 AM
Ya its poly's front Three link and rear triangulated four link kit, nice kits and relatively easy to put in. I dropped it right down so I got 4 inches from the diffs to the frame, and set it up so I got three inch uptravel and 13 down in the front using sway away coilovers, and 3 up and 15 down in the rear using a custom air shock. Nothing hits at full stuff and full droop, it all works well. Belly pan height turned out to be 22 inches, I also stretched the front four inches and the rear 11.5 inches, giving me a 107.5 inch wheelbase. Next step will be to cut the body off past the firewall and tube it all out. Truggy time!!!!!!!

sounds very close to what im going to be running, ill probably have a little less wheelbase though, but same poly suspension, just on the tj half frame, 14" sway aways front and 16" rear, probably 5-6" up and the rest down, but we will see when its getting put together. glad to see this build, looks good dude

xtremeyj
01-17-2009, 05:16 PM
thanks dude, lot of hard work and head scratchin went into this build. took a few from today with it jacked up to try to get enough air in to support the weight of the jeep. All I could say was WOW, I still had 5 inches of shock travel before she hit full droop. and by the way, thats a 60 inch high lift

going to run limiting straps? also what length links are you running?

Tunabomber
01-17-2009, 06:12 PM
holy drive shaft angle dude

xtremeyj
01-17-2009, 07:04 PM
Ya im gonna run a strap in the middle I think, just to prevent the extreme angle on the driveshaft, but maintain the articulation. This thing is a complete learning process for me and everything needs to be put through its paces to dial it all in properly.
