we had to put our german shepherd down awhile ago, so we decided on getting another gsd, kris and i went and picked her out on saturday her name is shelby, she is 6weeks old and she comes home in about a week (once the vet says they are fine to go home) she goes for her shots next weekend so we will find out then... here are some pictures of her at the breeders place and, molly (her full sister) is what she is going to end up looking like.. not the typical german shepherd look but we have always had the "black and sable" colouring decided on something diffrent, oh and the pink on her tow is nailpolish so the breeder can remeber which ones are sold to who (she doesnt want to put colors on them right now since they are always playing)

they are purebred....

they grey isnt a common colour in shepherds alot of breeder will put grey "blue or liver" shepherds down if they breed for show because its not "show quality" but i dont need or want show qaulity, alot of "show" dogs i belive arnt as good good, some breeders inbreed to get the "perfect" trait for their dogs so they stand they way they should in a show rather than they would as a working dog, its not common though for breeder to inbreed, but i dont like they way "show" shepherds stand doesnt look natural to me, and i dont care when it comes to colouring for a shepherd, i love the look of the grey its not common, she cant be registerd because of the colouring but i dont need a registerd dog

I grew up my whole live with german sheppards. The way they are considered purebred and registered in north america is a joke. I would not buy a german sheppard from a non working non Schutzhund trained kennel. German sheppards are not show dogs they are working dogs. we used Schutzhund grading and training for all of our german sheppards. There was a active grading club in mission but not sure if its around anymore. The dogs LOVE Schutzhund training. Just remember with GS if you are going to work your dog dont breed it..

http://www.germanshepherddog.com/ a tonne of info on schutzhund. you know in a few months if your dog is a good working dog or a bred for show dog.

we have had the "american" german shepherd dogs my whole life and i agree they rnt the same as a true schutzhund gsd, the breeding of my new puppy has come from the czech east/western german shepherd, which is a working type of gsd none of that "show" breeding in her which i love!!!
