Nope. Truck is crap. It's gettin cut up tommorow and sent to scrap. I already have 2 trucks I could put it on, and I sure don't need that one. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the air compressor on it or not, but the rest is just shit. Someone put a lot of time and effort into doing the body on it, but then left it out for about a year. They then put the crane into the windshield and frame. Ya can kiss that bitch goodby.

But it'll fit just fine on the buss. Looks like the pto is correct as well. I'm gonna have to lengthen the driveshaft for it, or make some new hoses, don't know yet which way will work out best, but we'll find out on monday.

Your throwing away money.......
This is from the Ford website.

600/700/800 fenders

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am in need of a good passenger side fender of the f500-800 style, I have been unable to find new or used sheetmetal for these bigger trucks. If you or someone or some company you know of has fenders for these trucks please let me know I would even buy both side fenders if need be.

The pix don't show the cab dammage. The windshield has been pushed in about an inch in the drivers top corner. Frost on the glass doesn't help either. As far as throughing away money, it's a time issue. I don't know where that guy's from and I know I could sell just about the entire truck given time, but have you seen my place? I already have one of everything and 2 of most things. I've wrecked a couple of these and have sat on the sheetmetal for years. Noone seamed to want it, so this one I didn't even ask. Again, I had 2 days to get it out and had no time within those days to do anything to it.

Got some stuff done today. Just gotta make some new hoses or a new driveshaft and we can get her working where she sits.

No, the chop top is perminant. I'm not putting it back on. The rest of the cab is also getting cut off as it gets in my way. I'm eventually putting a crew cab ford on it. I have a f700 front section which I'll be grafting onto a crew cab this spring. With the hiab curled up behind that and a tilt'n'load deck behind that. should be a usfull truck when done.

Bus frame? You piece by piece removed the body until you've gotten rid of all of it, but leaving the engine covered until you have another cab? is that what I'm seeing?

FU Toolbag
12-24-2008, 08:03 PM
Well, leaving it still functional till I have the new cab ready. I'll probably get the crane working before I pull the cab, so I can jerryrig it to run and use the crane to switch cabs. Should be a little weird to watch, might get the wife to tape it.

If that deck goes level, it would make a nice hay hauler for round bales. I've seen them made of chopped up busses. None of the ones I seen were insured though...

So the yards pretty good according to the city now, so back to the plan. Spent most the weekend preping the cab for removal, in a way that the motor would still work. how many other guys use their truck to dismantle and build itself?
