I have heard of guys "oiling" their frame to fight off road salt in the winter months.

how exactly is this done? im going to be driving my '82 just about daily this winter so I would like to do something to protect the metal:dontknow:

I use linseed oil. Its pretty waxy. You need to spray it in warm, We use it on all the 4340 rotarty wing airframes at work. Really hard to get it out

use Pam, like the stuff you use for cooking.
this is also good for mudding, makes the stuff come right off.

does your toyota not leak enough oil to have the frame covered in oil and grease already?

there used to be a place called rust check ..they would spray your car/trucks under carriage down with there oil and some secret additive<ya right>then let it sit for about 30 min on there drip tray so they could recycle what dripped off.they said it should be done before every winter..its common back east to spray your old oil change oil under your car..they still rot just a bit slowwer..up here it would help in cleaning mud off after wheelin.. Octagon motors sells it. Most british car places sell it. Allot of british auto body places will spray it. Its more for body panels then frames.
