View Full Version : Looking for a rebuilt 302 or 351 for my 1990 ford

So i'm looking for a 302 or 351 rebuilt motor...If you have one or know where i could look to find one in kelowna that would be appreciated. also i need a tranny as well as i no longer have reverse. My truck is a five speed.....so again mostly looking for a motor but if someone has a tranny lying around too perfect.
I have a fresh 302 short block, bored .020 over, never ran. Just bottom end rotating assembly, no cam.
Also have a complete carbed 351w.

Got a 302 that's gonna be getting pulled thisw week. I know it's a good runner and is out of a 90f250.

Well now the thing is i have efi and i hate it cause well i'm no mechanic. I understand how a carb works and it's simple, So how hard is it to change from efi to a carb....? and are either of you willing to do side work...? As in i need to pull the motor i have in my truck out put another one in.....but my tranny is shot well atleast i think as i have all five forward gears and no reverse is all. So yes im an idiot but atleast i can admit it and ask for help....Also i really would like to learn so if you dont mind me getting int he way while you do it awsome thanks.

boyzen's truck was a efi and was switched to propane carb. His is also a 5 speed. Don't remember if it's the good one, or if he's selling it, but I'ld check with him. Mine are efi. I don't know if an older 302 intake will work or not, but I seam to remember that it's a special intake.

my buddys got a 302 he is selling. oilpan to air cleaner. carbed. flywheel, clutch and bell housing for 4 spd comes with. i know the owner of mister transmision so i might be able to find you a used 4 sp. or pick a part has em for like $60. he spent $1500 on the bottom end.(dont know exactly what, i think its all performance shit not just stock.) said hes looking for about $900. pm me for more details if interested.

yea mine has a 5 speed its been good for me also have the zf for small block I plan on going big block so will not need either,make me an offer tell me what you want.

So most of these messages made sense.....but i have a solution lol....I think i'll stick with the efi as for tranny wise what the hell is an zf i know what a c6 is but have no idea what a zf is.....?
zf is a 5spd and is what your truck should have if its currently a 5spd.

fair enough.So then i guess all that remains is so is anyone willing to do an engine and tranny swap....? fu250 i'm interested in that motor that you have.

if your truck is already a 5 speed, why do you want someone to swap the tranny? And if your truck is a 150, odds are it's the frenchie trannie, which is shit. The zf5 was standard on the F350 and on the heavy f250's.

I want someone to swap the motor as it has no oil pressure and is gutless cause the guy i bought the truck from bagged it to shit....As for the tranny i have no reverse so i need to change that too.I'm assuming though that it's the forks that are screwed in my truck,as i have every gear but reverse. With that being said i'm looking for some one interested in swapping them.

My 302 is hooked up to a zf but it's already sold. Is your reverse gone or just grinding right now? I have a few other zf's here but they're big block ones.

so if i have no reverse and it's grinding is that the whole tranny or is it worth fixing. also are you interested in doing a motor/tranny swap lol sorry i know it's a big project.

Actually, it's not a big progect. Only real odd tool you need is an engine hoist, and you can borrow mine if you need to, but it's all just poping the plugs'and a few conectors. It's a lot less scarry than most think it is. If you have a place to do it is the real problem.

oh....well do you still have that 302 for sale...or is it gone already....? and i dont have the space to do the swap...what are the chances of you being willing to do an engine swap....? I want to be able to do this kinda thing on my own but need some guidance.
