Got My Calmini Header from Jeap Thrills on Thursday, installed it yesterday. Had a hard time getting the heat shield off the manifold so said fuck it and did things the hard way (just made the bolts harder to get to). Also could not get the old O2 sensor out so I had to buy a new one. Cut the old down pipe off just in front of the Cat and stubbed it into the collector with some muffler tape as a temporary fit until I can get it to a shop for the 2" exhaust upgrade next Saturday. Sounds a bitt different but not too much change yet. Did notice the exhaust comes out of the tailpipe in separate puffs now instead of a steady stream.

Here's the link to the video with the before and after comparison. I like the sound at idle but my neighbors are gonna hate me when I pull out of the driveway. I gets LOUD when you get on the skinny pedal.:happy0045:

target out in langley sold me a collecter for mine ,20 bucks cash no receite with a 2 and 1/4.out let. got rid of the heat shield too .don't need it, but if your running the computer for fuel inj. you need the co2 senser to run properly.sounds good with 2 and 1/4 all the way out.

I think it definitely sounds better and I have definitely gained some power out of the new system. They say that there should be a 15-18% increase in power. that's 10-12 HP on a Samurai!!!!!!!:party0010:

anyone know how long the nasty stink from the new system will hang around for?

Till you burn all the oil and paint off. Some good old hard driving will make burn it out faster[cheers]

No paint...all stainless. It must be the gaskets and the new cat?

From the factory they put an oil coating on the pipes to prevent any tarnishing from the environment. It'll burn off quick

I had to turn the tailpipe off to the side since the the "stink" I was smelling was the exhaust filling up the truck when I would crack a window. :badday

The original way I had it done was a pipe straight out the back, cut off flush with the bumper. Looked better but not so good for the health I guess.

Thanks to B and Darryl from Jeap Thrills for figuring it out for me.[cheers]
