Ok, here we go!
First I must say this was the best 4x4 run I ever did[36]
The weather made this trail more dificult than I've ever seen it before (except winter). The rocls were slick and the forest part was muddy. Lots of trucks there. Out of the ones that decided to go up I think only 6 made through the first part of the forest...so the stockers had to stay.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030070.jpg

This guy just didn't want to come up...Noce truck though.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030076.jpg

This truck made it through the first part but then decided it was gonna be too dificult, so turned arround. I give him props he really tried.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030079.jpg

Tyler decided to leave his Bronco behind and catch a ride in his buddy's zuk. The jeep made it through the first part of the forest but then turned arround for same reasons as the the Ranger.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030077.jpg

This part prooved to be too dificult for the jeep, he needed help to get by (sorry for the immage quality)
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030083.jpg

This is the only other truck besides the zuk and the mercedes that made it through the forest and got to the paved road on the other side of the gate

Here's the Zuk getting to the pavement. This was a cool little truck[cheers]

thanks for the pix razon the xj is mine and I had to turn around at that big bolder just up the trail head ( too slick with this much rain) man that little truck of your is awsome[cheers][cheers]

and trash you might make it up but it is really slick right now and the trail bank isn't really wide for how slippery it is right now:confused0006:

hmmm have to try it sometime in the dry first, looks like some fun wheelin,

I would also like to do it again next summer when it is dry but how it was today was a little sketchy [16]

Ok, the trip up begins
The jeep after it just cleared the first obstacle...the easy way. At the second obstacle unfortunately he decided it was better to turn arround :(

And...3 wheeling it

The zuk's turn, and th ejeep turning arround in the background
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030105.jpg
He cleared this one fairly quick so I only got this one shot, and blurry too
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030106.jpg

Then the third obstacle, hard way again
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030109.jpg

The zuk gave it a few tries, but with open difs he decided to pass this one the easy way
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030112.jpg

No:4..3 wheeling it again. That's all I got for flex. You can see that the low pressure in the tires makes for a couple of inches in suspension travel. I think maybe even less would be better...but no beed locks so probably safer this way (I was at 18)
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030114.jpg

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030116.jpg

And the Zuk.....taking the easy way[16]
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030118.jpg
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030120.jpg
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030121.jpg
Oh, I forgot...he needed a little help on this one actually. These trucks are so light, I thought the strap must have came off
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030123.jpg

Ok, this part was fukin cool. I thought I'm stuck for good. Another jeep was in there earlier. It broke an axle trying to get out, and it dug big holes where it's tired used to be in the creek. When I droped in there, I went right on my frame...I knew there was no backing out...fukin steep to begin with, nevermid the drop in the creek
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030125.jpg
Here's when I just dropped in
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030126.jpg
I managed to get the bumper on top of the log, but it took off pressure off the front wheels..no go
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030129.jpg
backed up again, and threw some rocks in the creek
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030131.jpg
Now I got out
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030133.jpg
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030134.jpg

Razon
11-12-2008, 02:43 AM
I always manage to fuck up my exhaust on this rock, and today was no exeption. I have a piece of flex tube that I used to bypass the front muffler...all it takes it's a little touch and it's fucked

First time, with no incidents
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030140.jpg
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030141.jpg
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030143.jpg
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030144.jpg
Tried a harder line, and sure enough touched the exhaust. Every time I try this line, I hit thhat damn pipe...I got to figure a way to get up on it without touching. You gotta be there to understand, but it's a tricky one.:confused0006:
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030149.jpg
and 3 wheeling it again
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030153.jpg
Steam from just going through the creek
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030154.jpg
And...I forgot to turn off my fans when I went through the creek so I burned the fuses. The Zuk guy luckly had some spares and I was ready to go again in no time...well, a few minutes.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030156.jpg
On the way down we took the short way. It was getting dark.
Call me chicken, but on this obstacle I took the easy way...last time I tried it the hard way, in dry, I rolled my truck. From the pics it doesn't look like much, but the whorst part is not in the pic.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f160/Razon13/Eagle%20Nov11/P1030163.jpg

By this time we just wanted to get out, and since it was uneventfull, no more pics.
Awesome day, can't wait to do it again. Oh I have some carnage!!! I'll post pic tomorrow. I clipped and cracked the fiberglass corner of my rear bumper (JUST the corner is fiberglass...go figure)
Gotta hit the sack now...workin tomorrow:mad:

No i had to be back for a dinner. If it was earlier. I was there for the beginning and it took 1 1/2 hours just to get to the pavement cause of the stockers.

Hydraulic, no monkey business!!! I did go to the lookout on a previous trip. Climbed up on th ebig rock, turned arround on it and came back down. The guy I went with never sent me the pictures though[16]

I'm at work...have to keep it short. Just wanna say that if we had enough time I'm sure the Zuk could have tackled the obstacles the hard way. I've seen those trucks before and I know what they can do. We just wasted so much time at the bottom...and we wanted to get back down before it got dark. I give him props![cheers]

Yeah, lockers activated from inside the truck rule...you only put them on when you need them, and the truck can still steer properly. You need good axles for lockers though...

That trail is the "Short Way". It only has one big obstacle. Like I said in the picture description, I put my truck on it 's side when attempting it once.
Never went up, but I always come down on it.

If we do it again with a bigger group, I think we'll have lots of storries to tell.
Can't beat a trail like this so close to home when you live in a big city.[36]
