ahhhh...the atomic axle. 7 inches more clearance than a D60 in the rear amd 6 more in the front. If you have Atomic axles and 33- inch tires, your buddy with Dana 60s and 44-inch tires has less clearance than you! he housing is constructed from A656, 80,000-PSI tensile strength steel and is equivalent to nearly -inch-thick mild steel. The housing weighs in at 110 lbs. All Atomic rear axles feature heavy-duty, full-floater axle shaft assemblies, which means the spindles and bearings take the weight of the vehicle rather than the axle shafts. The high-angle faceted design provides superior strength and creates a natural truss structure for high-impact applications. Spindles, wheel hubs, bearings, brakes, etc. are standard issue Dana 60 parts. front and rear axles use a Ford 9-inch third-member housed in a high-strength center section to preserve proper gear mesh under heavy torque load. They can be ordered in high- or low-pinion and standard or nodular cases and also can be ordered in any gear ratio from 4.10-5.38. 700 h.p. rated 35-spline CV joints. Center section is sealed using standard Ford 9-inch outer bearings and seals, keeping the oil in the center of the case. 35-spline stub shaft extends into the third member/locker. Can be had with a 40 spline upgrade.

Rear = :eek:$$$7495.00:eek:

i would still rather build a custom portal hub axle. better reduction and as much ground clearance as long as you can build into it...

that housing kind of tapers up only in the middle... lots more clearance to be had if built differently
