So i got two big electric fans from an old toyota camry for free. Right now i have only one, so i figure 2 is better then one. My question is how do i mount them ? Mines just zap strapped to the core, which IMO is fine because it weighs nothing... but the new ones are bigger and heavier so i'd like to do it properly. Any pics of your dual electric fan setups ? [cheers]

I used a pair of fans from an oldsmobile.
I built a frame from 1X1 that I mounted the fans to, then mounted the frame to the rad support. The fans sit about an inch away from the rad and is more effective than the old clutch fan with half a housing, not to mention I can now fill my power steering res. without spilling all over.

Ill see if I can dig up some pictures.

if you're gonna go electric fan id suggest getting ford taurus fans if you want it to cool somewhat decently

Are yo using them in conjunction w/ mech fan? I can say though a fan shroud covering the main core will help those little fans be as efficient as possible! Toggle on/off switch or thermostat control? I run dual electrics (6200CFM) but other than sounding wicked, No benifit vs reliability,I would still be running the factory clutch fan if I had the space.

Clutch fan = reliable#yeah

ford taurus fans put out tonnes of cfm, and there 2 stage, you will need a 60amp relay though for when it turns on, and you can wire it up for both speeds, say regular speed for driving and the "high" second speed for wheeling
