wats better either a borgwarner t-18 4spd OR a NP435 4spd witha 205 tcase.. wats stronger? wats the difference? wats goin to have a lower overall gear ratio? I want to get one and hook it up to my 4.9L which currently has the mazda m5od, wat do i need to modify or change? if the tranny comes of a truck that has a 302, do i have to get a different bellhousing??

It will bolt up fine.......... is it coming out of a 4x4 or 2wd

the 302 and the 4.9 use the same bell housing

you will probably need a different intermediate housing

the intermediate housing is the chunk that goes between the tranny and the t-case.
They are different for different trannys (also called the adaptor) they contain the t-case linkage pivot points and are also the piece that mounts to your crossmember

both are top load trans low 1st and reverse gears personally I perfer the t 18 or t 19....

your bell housing will bolt direct to your in line 6
as long as the donor was small block (302,351 ect...)
very easy swap and Much stronger than the mazda POS

Go ZF!

I am partial to my NP435 ford versions are 6.69 non sycro 1st gear

T18 is 6.32 non syncro ist 1st gear

T19 is 5.1 to 1 with a syncro 1st gear

If you want the lowest gearing get an NP435

if you want probably the best of both world a ZF would be the best option

5.72 1st , fully sycro tranny and a .76 OD

if you want your cake then get an NP435 with a Gear splitter :)

Any 90's+ F-250 4x4 with a 5spd came with the ZF, I like the ZF, I put one in my bronco.
