Looking to get an electric winch for my ford f250. it weighed in at 5900 pounds at the scale and is on 44'' boggers.

im going to buy a used and ive narrowed it down to 3

ramsey 9000 pound

warn 8274 8000 pound

tmax 12,500 pound

i want something that will pull my shitheap through waist deep bog and up a steep hill with ease. found some decent deals on the old warn 8274s but not sure if its enough? I know a snatch block almost doubles the rated line pull...

Out of the three listed, the t-Max....your gonna need weight overhead general rule I"ve been told by a few is to at least double the weight of your rig in winch power.....might be something to it or I'm simply on crack....

The correct ratio is the weight of your truck + 50% so his truck weighs 5900lbs so he could get away with a 9000lb winch but bearing in mind he wants to do heavy pulls in deep mud nothing less than a 12000lb would do. That being said though he could go with the 8274 and a couple of snatchblocks each snatchblock used will double the winches pulling capacity so the 800lb warn with 2 snatchblocks would become a 3200lb winch.

The 8274 should be enough. There were two m12000 warn winches for sale on craigslist that should do ya as well.
