Excellent... !
Way cool photo's...

Where abouts were you ?
We've been whale watching from Tofino (WeighWest) and Telegraph Cove...
The trips were quite different one side of the island to the other.
We are coming out to BC in a couple of weeks for holidays, and were intending on doing some more whale watching...

Any info is appreciated !
Gerry

We went out with Vancouver Whale Watch in Richmond. I think they are done whale watching for the year now but I'm not positive. We saw them off the coast of Naniamo. The put on an amazing show. *results not typical* :D

Thanks Suz...
Kelly's still pissed that you got such great pix...
She has so many shots of the splash after they go back under it's not funny... Our last trip out in Nova Scotia was a lot of fun, they are still getting a handle on eco-tourism out there, and aren't quite as slick and polished as the operators in BC... They also seem to get a lot closer to the whales, I had to switch to my wide angle zoom, because I was too close with the telephoto.

BC has some of the best rules in practice to protect the whales. I'd rather not get that close but view them from a distance that doesn't intrude or scare them. I guess the rules are different over there. The rules will change in the enviromentalists find out how close they are gettig to the whales.
Oh and most of the pictures are taken by Mukaluk who happens to work for the company and has a fabulous camera :-)
