how tight do u bolts have to be on a dana 60 just did an axel swap on my truck today but not sure how tight to torque the u bolts

tighten the shit outta them then tourque them to 150ft/lbs, thats what i did on my 8.8 and they havent loosened yet, 3 years,

What thread is on the u bolts and what grade nut? All you need is a torque chart.
should be 9/16 we go till our gun stop's and thats 350 lbs ... just remeber they are streach nuts and need to be retourqued allways at least once

i tightened up to 110 foot lbs which is what the book calls for but i thought it was a bit on the low side. how much gear oil does the rear end hold 2 litres?

at my work you tighten them as tight as a 1/2" impact will turn em....

tighten em real tight 150-200 ft lbs!! then retighten em after 100-200 km or a real good day on the trail, never reuse the u-bolts or nuts!!!
