Well had some rust starting to show bad on the Heep, and my parents were in visiting from Florida for a month and Dad was gettin bored, he fixed all the little crap in the house..So I figured I would give him another project...

And so it began.....

I started here...:dontknow:

basically black, the sides were spray on undercoat, man that was a bad idea, and the stripping began....

Broke the side window, so had to replace it....28 bucks, not bad, the windsheild is only 58 bucks...carringon

for colors, I thought grey/silver would look good.....but I was told by my wife that Blue and kinda titanium silver would look good....well I told her....Its Charcoal and Blue then. :confused0006:

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t48/giggityjeep/Picture050Medium.jpg

The bad windsheild..

It was late when I gothte top finally set on, still have to button down a few thing and clean it...turned out not bad me thinks, for a driveway and no carport even...

Sorry Dad is heading back to Florida on Monday...To answer some questions, it was spray bombed, lots of prep work, amazing what you find when you start grinding... .....

The flares are going back on just a bit different all black....windshield is going in tomorrw and I should be mobile.

I redid the tailgate and cleaned it up today, just have a few more things...always a few more things it seems like...

Anyhow I will post up some pics of the tailgate area and some good poser shot tomorrow once the window is in it...

Thanks for the compliments, that is some of the nicest thigs anyone has ever said on here......lol

The End result...well almost, man STILL have a couple things to do, flares is one, which I think will make the blue on the Fenders just pop, but anyhow for now its rollin....

Also any opinions on the Grill, was thinking of taking it off and going black there as well..??

Looks pretty good, that blue looks a lot like the stock colour on my CJ.
How many cans of spray paint does it take to do something like that?

giggityjeep
09-06-2008, 09:22 AM
I used about 7 cans of blue, but they were the small dupli color cans, I could not get the color in the bigger car, anyhow I could have used prolly 2 more, and like 3-5 cans of Grey, depends on how 'perfect' you want it.

ya I am getting mixed ideas on the Grill, I personally tink Black would look better, but for now all the screws are stripped to get it out anyhow, so it will stay till I get some more ambition.....

for now Im pretty much out....of ambition that is....put the flares on last night, they look good.

Looks like it turned out quite nice. I was thinking of doing the spray and pray on my truck. Brown just doesn't attract the hotties like i hoped. On the other hand, it hides the rust.
