Can't even run'em on the street in the rain...unless you want to end up off the road...but then again that's the last place you'd want to be with them:rolleyes:

From first hand experience id say only get thornbirds at a last resort if there cheap. I got my 5 for $300 or something, and i just ran em cause i wanted a 30" tire. There awful on the road, and even worse offroad. I custom cut mine and they worked a lot better, but still not good by any means.

A buddy of mine thought he might be able to use Thornbirds as planters in his front lawn.

They slid into the ditch after the 1st rainfall :(

A set of those came on my jeep and they were the first thing to go - AWFUL tire.. no traction anywhere. Driving in the rain? slidey.. off-road? sucked into ruts and the only thing that gets traction are those side lugs, so you CAN'T climb out.

To just look at them - they DO LOOK nice, really.. but they are the WORST WORST WORST! BFG AT's would be a million times better even!

Hahahahaha[36]

I had a guy use them on one of my runs into the badlads of sunny southern Alberta. That was the only place I ever seen them hook up at all. He did decent enough with them there, so if you plan on moving to Brooks, or Medicine Hat, go ahead and buy them. Otherwise, listen to what everyone else is saying, and buy something else.

I have a friend who absolutely swears they were the best tire he ever ran.

But I have yet to see him with a set of them on any truck now. So I think he's either full of it, or doesnt know what a thornbird is..

They are the worst tire out there. dont waste your money. if they are free dont take em. I run 36" TSL Radials & they are great.

well after being at the mud drage this weekend i saw some Thornturds
I might actually run of course they were sooo grooved and had over 30lbs of rubber taken out and looked more like a cut bogger than a thornturd but the side wall still said thornbird... and that may be the one case id think of runnen em.... then again maybe not.... they suck!!!!!
