View Full Version : Bear Lake Fishing Again

Grandpa and I go back to Bear Lake for four days. Tuesday to Friday. Go camping and fishing. Catch lots of perch. Also find the trout. Catch lots of 11 to 12 inch trout. A few a bit bigger. I was fishing with my spinning. Grandpa fish with his fly rod. See a helicopter. Not sure what it was carrying. Not sure if it was water. Also see a bald eagle eating fish, but could not get very close. Wednesday night had a big surprise. Someone in next camp shooting off fireworks. Told them fire danger was very extreme. Not good idea. Also Dave from Fishing Lodge come and talk to them. Dave told us a few years ago someone caught the top of a tree on fire with fireworks. Big problem. Fishing was so good, even though very hot, maybe go back in September or October.

maybe try ice fishing in winter???

Four or five years ago, we used to go ice fishing at Bear Lake all the time in the Pathfinder. We have not gone for awhile. Maybe next winter.
