Yo Toy experts, what's the minimum lift you can get away with to run 33" tires......83 Toyota truck. (without cutting body parts off or installing a body lift) Thanks [cheers]

I believe 2" would be the minimum.....3" would be better.

my old red toy had just a 3" body lift (still has I guess) and 33's were perfect for it. thats also with springs that were toast in the rear.

Thanks Reece, I have the 33's on it and there is some room with the bad springs so hopefully the better one's will work. Just want to get this thing on the road for driving to work and shit. I am liking the clearance the 33's give it but I could go to 31's I guess cuz I don't want to spend much on this. [cheers]

just bolt em on and run em joe ... smack everything that hit's with bfh ... 33 will fit with no lift if u trim a bit ... so even if u have a 1.5 lift you will be fine unless u want to take it out and twist it up ... then i can see it touching ...

[cheers] bro ...

33's should fit on a stock 1st gen. depending how flexy the sprins are they may rub a little. If you have an adjustable drag link you can cheaply and easly move the front axle forward(i'llexplain how if your interested) 1 inch with would solve the problem of the tire hitting the firewall.

If you are just going to drive it around, keep 31's on on...

I had 33's on mine all stock with no problems and ran like that for over a year till I sold it and its springs were really flat

Always broke

I put 35's on my 83 with a little trimming and a bfh then sold it to a cupcake

Thanks guys, 33's it is. Dave, driving around up here means a lot of off road, trails, like that. [cheers]
I would be interested in that one inch forward mod, I think I know what you mean but ya know.

Just trying to fix up an old rusty Toy on the cheap and have some fun. Took it for a little burn yesterday and it all seems to work good, gonna cut some off the box off because the rust is so bad around the tailgate and the guy had the snowplow on it and liked to back into shit apparently. The leafs on it are so bad lol, gotta get them changed out also which will lift it a bit more. [cheers]
