2004 f250 super duty 4x4
i just bought a trailer brake kit and hooked it up i got all the lights working but the brakes on the camper dont engage even when i turn the adjustment all the way on.hooked the camper up to another truck and they work fine .what / where do i start looking

5.4 ltr? if so i believe you have too add a relay underhood. it has a spot for it you just plug it in..

yes it is a 5.4 the guys at e&h hitch where i bought the kit said the relay was already under the hood .is there any way to test the relay

That's what I had to do too on mine, simple enough especially if you have the owners manual...

yea either a relay or fuse, kinda dumb question but is the wiring for your trailer brakes in the proper spot? i had mine redone when i ripped the plug off in the mountains, and the guy put the wire for the trailer brakes to the lights and the left signal was the right and the right was the left, when my lights turned on the brakes locked up

ya, test the plug and check that it is hooked up all correct.

its all hooked up according to the diagram on the cover so i guess its gotta be the relay, is there any way to check the relay . fuses are all good

pull the relay off, and run a wire for the ground to the ground on the relay and then run a wire off your batt to the power on the relay, if it clicks your in business, if not then you need a new one,

duh it was just a fuse that i didnt see before when i checked them(sssssssssslllap wake up idiot)

well at least you found it, lots of times from the factory the fuse is installed but its blown or something,
