im thinking of buying another truck of the 97 and up era for a daily driver so just wondering if anyone knew about the reliability/fuel economy that i could expect between the 2 moters 4.6 and 5.4 oh and also what amount of kilometers on the trucks that i should stay away from if any.

all i have heard is that in stock form after 50,000km or so people have been getting great mileage out of the 5.4 V8's

I have a 98 F-150 with the 4.6 and I like it but my truck is a 5 spd I have been told the 4.6 with an automatic behind them has quite a bit less power.

The V10's are great for power and reliability. I wouldn't buy one for a daily driver though, unless you have a heathy bank account to pay for the fuel......They are cheap because no one can afford to drive them.
