On Sunday we went up to Chipmunk Creek to do some biking and visit some friends.

Went for one.... Stayed for three. [36]

There is still to much snow to complete the loop. You can get to the first look out on the Chipmunk Creek side and half way to the second look out. On the Mt. Thurston side you can just make it to the top... but thats it. Its good all the way to the upper parking lot of Mt. Cheam.

:D Playing in the Chipmunk Creek gravel pit.

Nice shots! What elevation do you figure you hit snow at? We were playing in it at about 5500' last Saturday. Makes for an awesome beer cooler! :D

Yeah he needs a bigger one, but he wanted to keep it for this season. The WR is 2001.

The elevation of the snow on the Chipmunk side was around 4000'

There is alot more snow up there than people think. Was up Thurston last spring in May to find RigPig and drag him and his junk home and it was a real shit show.I really like wheeling up there and would like to do the loop. That would be a good day wheeling trip.

Is it still possible to do "the loop" (the one that goes from Chipmunk Creek and comes out at Popkum)? Me and some buddies tried doing that one last year but we got turned around by some guys on dirtbikes with sticks in their wheels saying "If we can't make it, you definitely can't!"

Might be there on the Aug long. Broke my foot so no dirt biking. I would be into doing it in the truck.

There was a rock slide years ago at the top near the 1st look out I talk about. There is a small trail across it, don't know if I would try it.
