View Full Version : Hissing Brakes

I have a question I was hoping someone would be able to help me out with.

Im pretty sure the back brakes arent working, so i know the front ones need to work a little harder. This being said, I have to push the pedal almost to the floor before the truck even things about stoping. Doing this seems to cause a hissing sound. I haven't noticed any brake fade or the pedal suddenly going to the floor, but it is a little concerning. I have checked the fluid level and made sure there is no air in the lines. Aside from that, I dont know what else to check. Anyone have any ideas?

I'd suspect the brake booster if its "Hissing", because it uses vacuum pressure to Boost brake pressure to the master cylinder.

So would that mean a damaged hose, or a failing booster?
