Gear shifter binding up ??

im with dirka, pull the boot back off the shifter, and make sure its going right over and not hitting the floor board, if it isn't, also pull the shifter out and make sure you did get the end "in the hole" and that little plastic thing is still on the end of the shift peg. other wise I cant see anything else being the prob. as easy as re-installing the tranny and t-case, and it being an inch to the right, and tightening the crossmember.

thanxs ill try that. come to think, i dont think there was a platic thing on the end. plus ive never had one out since this happened, so i wouldnt have know that.[cheers]

the shifter bushing could have still been inside the tranny. But if you are going to get in there anyways, might as well replace with a new bushing

if that dosnt work maybe ill check the atf or maybe see if the shifter nob is 1to 4, lol

I agree, do the shifter bushing and the seat. I lost 5th and reverse awhile back, picked up the replacments from marlin crawler (They have a better version then oem) and it fixed everything.

As said above (I think) it could be that your shifter can't go into 5th because it is hitting the floor pan now.
Maybe needs to be clearanced a bit or :dontknow:

If ya didn't screw with the tranny then it should shift just fine

its funny, because now after weeks of playing around with it trying different things to fix it. my drunking buddy that help with the build, is now saying he may have takking out bolts on the trany that he shouldnt have. of course im not forsure of all the detail yet, becuase every time i talk with him the story goes a little ferther everytime. but as far as all the help, ive try it all and its still the same. i think somthing must have fell out of place when he was srewing my truck haa.
