Got a 454 40 over with 396 heads to go into the hot rod.Had a 6.2 in it,so the springs will be plenty heavy.Gonna lower it with drop spindles, was wondering if I should change the springs as well. The 6.2 was stupid heavy was curious about weight difference.I post up some pix so you can see what I'm buildin'.
The 454 should be around 750-800lbs depending on accessories. Cast or aluminum intake, etc.
I think they are close but the diesel may be a little heavier.

700-850 depending on accesorys and materials. The 7.2 diesel is over 900. The walls are way thicker. Diesels are heavier then the v10's
