A few of you are wondering why you haven't seen me out in the past few weeks. Besides the fact that we have an 8 week old and an 2 1/2 year old I have been doing some much needed repair on my 82 Toyota long box.

Some of the Damage from the winter..

Broken springs.
Oil leaks from pan and oil pump.
Busted top bolt on to of front 3rd member.[16]
RUST EVERYWHERE.
Steering sloppy (unsafe sloppy).
Busted shifter.

Just to name a few.

:D Thank you to thoes who have donated time and parts !! :D

I must admit that the winter beatings were a blast and I had super fun, now its time to get stuff fixed for RIPSAW !![36]

The progress so far...

I paid $800 for the rear kit.
It came with everything minus the shocks.

The fronts are going to need some work, I'll probably add an extra bottom leaf out of my old rear pack for now.
I plan on either linking the front or install the Trail gear set.

Well I hope this is the last time I have to do this for a while..
I prepped the box for a with 4 layers of primer, then sanded it with scotch bright, then 2 layers of flat black, sanded again, then 2 cotes of gloss black.

I looked good for the prep I did (none), but I decided to rockerguard the box.

After I applyed 2 layers of gloss black.

There was a little nose but not as much as a thought there would have been.

Wow! Pretty uncool post. I believe everyone has a right to post thier builds, whether it be sane (Dorka) or insane (Rio, Slacker etc.). It's all about the hobby of wheelin', some have bigger wallets than others. In the end if it be a $100 upgrade or a $10,000 upgrade, it has the right to be shown off. As I have learned from a infraction that I recieved, everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. I personnally don't agree with yours, it's like calling a kid out cause he got a funny haircut or still wears velcro shoes. I like Daves truck and the history behind it. Wish I had my old mans truck that I could go out with my kids and rip it up!

Wish I had my old mans truck that I could go out with my kids and rip it up!

yo buddie, it was in regards to the "Sticky" aspect of it... i love daves truck,, and 1st gens.. and hope to wheel with him over the next few years.. just my opnion dude,,, Opnion's are like assholes every one has one..

Go back to the jeep room..... How dose a jeep owner find a sheep in long grass????

You should build your own new frame out of box steel. Then either skin it with your panels, or just bolt your cab to it. It's easier than it sounds, and it's what I should have done with my Suzuki to begin with....

yea thats a great plan, there a guy on crawlin buildin a frame for a ranger, great idea, you should make a template nd build me one aswell, i'll help nd buy the steel for my frame, you could actually make some decent coin by doin that, if the cost for the material isnt greater than the cost to build it
