View Full Version : Prelude Seat Swap
05-26-2008, 07:45 PM
I just picked up some Prelude seats and was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to swap them into my 1990 Samurai. I am sure that there are more ways than one :dontknow: so I want to see if everyone can agree that there is a right way and a wrong way before I start hacking brackets and drilling holes.
I hope there are some good tips out there...thanks. and cheers![cheers]

cut old mounts of prelude rails, mount up some sort of new mounts (varrying height depending on how you want to mount them), remove old mounts from samurai... place

I didn't use Honda seats but what I did for my 92 was make a large plate to go over my samurai seat rails and created new mounts for the Camaro seats I put in... here are some pics.
That isn't me... Had a helper

Thanks epic but I had a good look at everything today and decided to go ahead and give it a go since everything was held togrther by bolts and the holes were only out by a half an inch in the length and lined right up for width.
The advice is still worth a couple of frosty ones though....let me know the next time you are going wheeling and I'll see if I can catch up with ya

I always forget to take pics, but this time I remembered. Here is the process I went through. Pretty easy really. The only mod that I had to do was drill one new hole on each rail to accommodate the half inch difference in length of the mounting points on the Prelude seats.
